Activity 3: Bulk Sorting

This activity covers the determination of Bulk Sorting potential from a set of UC populated blocks. From the supplied set of data determine both the original and Bulk Sorting grade tonnage results. Assuming the same cut-off grade, does sorting increase metal produced?

Activity 3 Notes:

  • Cut-off grades here are calculated by greater than or equal to the value
  • Calculating tonnages in the sorting case needs to reflect the different masses being accepted from each block
  • Grades need to be weighted to the relevant mass
  • RR values here are for relative upgrades at fixed points and will not adhere to a normal curve shape
    • Each cut-off grade can produce different relative upgrades
  • What would the important metrics be when comparing the sorting and no sorting cases?
